|
|
Does anybody know if there's a way to cap the upload rate in bittorrent? My ISP doesn't give me enough monthly uploading bandwidth to last more than about 3 days at constant full upload rate, so bittorrent burns it up way too much. Not to mention my downloading speed gets slower as my uploading increases, so at full upload my connection gets very slow. Grrr... |

Best way I know to do this is to use "trickle". It's in portage. |

Doh. Just read the FAQ, and learned about the --max_upload_rate parameter.
BTW thanks for the tip verbatim. Turns out I won't be needing that for bittorrent, but I'll remember about that, should I need it the future. |

Try emerging bittorrent-theshadow or bittornado. The gui has upload limits built in. Very handy. |
