Moin, mal wieder ein Problem,
nachdem ich nun 9 Stunden das so gemacht habe wie es im Handbook steht

dannach "emerge sync"
und habe es dann nochmal so gemacht wie es in desktop-anleitung steht

Nur das nun kein /etc/X11/Sessions/ - Verzeichnís habe.
Ich habe auch schon die "#" vor Xsession in der rc.conf entfernt und einfach mal auf gut glück "kde-3.2" eingetragen und dann nen reboot, funzt auch net.
Was soll ich machen?

Also nach einem "startkde" kommt in mehrfacher ausführung

hast du deinen xserver konfiguriert? diese meldung sollte darauf hindeuten,
dass x deine grafikkarte nicht findet/erkennt (weil nicht/falsch konfiguriert)
ach, und was mir gerade noch so auffällt, du solltest deinen desktopmanager
_nicht_ mit root-rechten starten, sondern als normaler benutzer (z.b. niburhe?!).

Will der bei Hostname was bestimmtes haben, weil bei hostname steht nils drin.
Und ich habe irgentwie immer noch das gleiche Problem wie vorher, was muss ich für eine GeForche4 Ti4600 und einen 15" TFT einstellen, die maximal 1024x768 mitmacht?
Jetzt geht der Monitor aber erst in standby (also die Lampe wir kurz gelb) und kommt, dann mit der Fehlermeldung wieder. |

Also, das mit dem Hostnamen sollte nicht das Problem sein, sofern Deine /etc/hosts korrekt ist.
Um xfree zu konfigurieren, empfiehlt es sich: /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 -configure auszuführen, anschließend die Config von /root/XF86Config.new nach /etc/X11/XF86Config kopieren und auf Deine Wünsche anpassen.
Anschließend als User startx eingeben und wohlfühlen. |

Und was muss ich da nun wie umstellen, dass das funzt.
Was für Infos über mein System braucht ihr noch um mir da mal ne richtige XF86Config posten zu können?
Also ich habe ne PS2 Maus und Tastatur ne Nvidia GF4 ti 4600 und nen Flachbildschirm die max. 1024x768 mitmacht bei 69Hz / 31KHz
Ich hoffe mal das wir das noch irgentwann mal hinbekommen.
