Mouse dies going from Gentoo-dev 2.6.3 to 2.6.4 or 2.6.5

I'm about to give up...I copied the .config from 2.6.3 to 2.6.5 and compiled it and even that didn't work. It's a standard imps2 mouse and always worked until 2.6.4. Does anyone have any ideas of what to try next?

can you post the mouse section of your xfree configuration?

and are you using devfs or udev?
