Hi all,

I have a few problems with firefox and was just wondering if anyone has a fix for them...

1) When firefox asks me to remember a password, it does so twice.

2) Firefox seems to forget all my passwords/details almost daily!

It's starting to get annoying, i've done a search and come up with nothing...

cheers.

It does that with me too. Though, sadly, I don't know why, so I can't suggest a solution.

Hmm, it doesn't do THAT with me.

Well, sorry that I don't have a solution, but I figured I would let you know that you are not alone. :)

This is another confirmation of your problem without any suggestions:

I get this to, haven't ever figured out why..

Hummm, I have to re-enter passwords to but not daily more like once every 2 weeks.

I am having the same issue, though mine does not forget my passwords. Anyone with any ideas would be a great help to all of us!

I think the first question is if you want to remember the password for that username and the second is if you want to remember that username and password for that form or something. =)

Me too! (I hate the double prompt.. so I disabled the feature all-togethor, but I rather like using it when it doesn't annoy me.)

Yep, I get the double-prompt too. SUPER annoying, firebird didn't do this. Also, when I press the "View Saved Passwords" button in the prefs, nothing happens. This is also super annoying. However, a bug-free firefox will be the best browser ever.

OH... and may I add that it crashes randomly when I go to certain websites?
For example http://www.northropgrummanit.com crashes firefox consistently.

If you ever find a full featured gui browser that no site will crash let me know.

I realize this, it just crashes at too many sites. I find myself opening up Konqueror because a site crashes in firefox way too often.

Might be a cflags thing. I use konq wherever I can because it's faster and doesn't leak mem like firefox. But konq seems the more crash prone of the two for me. I've even had it crash twice submitting a post in these forums. I' didn't have firebird crash much and I haven't managed to crash firefox yet. But I haven't been using firefox all that much lately.

do you mind posting your cflags? mine are:
CFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"

I've got CFLAGS='-march=athlon-xp -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe'

But the ebiuild filters out -fomit-frame-pointer and knocks -O3 down to -O2 so we have basically the same thing. I'm using the gtk2 version as well but that's the default now.

There's probably no need to bump, because I doubt this will get resolved. Firefox is still < 1.0 so, as they say on the web page, it's a technology preview and is not recommended for critical tasks. I'm just waiting around for 1.0 and tolerating a buggy firefox for the time being.
