I wonder if there is support for the Java Media Framework on PPC. Looking at the jmf-2.1.1e.ebuild file, it only lists x86, sparc and amd64. Is this so because PPC is known not to work, or it just wasn't tested? |

Darkeye,
IT hasn't been tested probably. There is a problem with java on ppc and that is that the ibm jdk1.4 is the only one that works. And The virtual-jdk doesn't recognize that one as default jdk. If you have that one installed i'dd appreciate it if you let me know if it works or not. The unstable masking will only be solved in a few days when repoman allows us to use 2 packages as virtual.
I'm really sorry about this, and i have pointed out to the portage maintainers that this is a serious problem on ppc but i cannot do more now.
I'll be creating a list of java-apps that are unstable/stable soon on http://dev.gentoo.org/~sejo/
Greetings,
