QT and fonts

Hi

I'm having problems with fonts in qt-> it doesn't recognize truetype fonts for me but my friend has the same version and his does... so what could be the problem ? I do have ttf installed because other programs do recognize it (firefox,thunderbird) and I do have freetype and truetye enabled as flags so qt has been compiled with them... I have emerged corefonts and it does solve the problem to some point.. qt recognizes ttf but in licq(uses qt) the massage I send(when writing I can see the fonts I need) the fonts just get some strange encoding(yes, I have set everything in the licq options and am pretty sure that licq is working as it should)... I need cp1250 encoding and I did select it and it doesn't help...
Anyway I unmerged corefonts because everything looks awful with them and I do have ttf installed anyway else mozilla wouldn't recognize the fonts I need...

Any ideas how to fix this ???
