I am trying to install 2004.0 with the following boot flag: gentoo doscsi But when it gets to Scanning for advansys... it just hangs. If anyone else has found a fix I would appreciate it.

I would try just booting up normally off the LiveCD. Then try to load the driver manually with the modprobe command.

Code:

modprobe advansys

If the above dosen't work, it's is possible that something else is causing the problem (like apm,acpi, etc...). Then just start disabling some boot options until you get it to work.
