Hello,
Installed Gentoo fine.
Added user fine. User login's fine and runs X fine. But user can't run a terminal at all. User has bash set as shell in /etc/passwd also. Any suggestions?

| Try adding the user to the tty group. |

what happens when you fire up a terminal program? nothing at all, or does it bring up the window, but no prompt?
and, what kernel are you using? |

It worked, the user needed to be added to tty group.
