|
|
i am using the development sources 2.6.4
i get kernel panics randomly, sometime happens 2 o clock in the morning ,sometime during the afternoon.
and it always say on the screen
Code: | Fatal exception
In interrupt handler, kernel not syncing
|
something like that, those weren't the exact wording
and just now, I try to change the time on my machine with the command:
and clicked enter ( i did this thru ssh), BOOM, my server is dead, totally dead!!

Date problems...
So maybe you should try disabling the more freakish rtc (real time clock) and nvram options in the kernel config - it could be a problem there.
Or maybe an ACPI problem, or .. or...
Kernel config, yeah ![Wink ;-)](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

Much more useful information, like stack backtrace, is usually printed right above that message. Any chance to see it? _________________ Dmitry |

it has a bunch of hex numbers and some text with it.
but since the kernel is already panicked, i couldn't have done anything but to turn it off and power on again. and the log doesnt log anything either.
so i will try to copy it down by hand later when i get home. ![Wink ](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ I do what I want, and that's what I do.
