|
|
I try to install Gentoo 2004.0
I have emerged gentoo-dev-sources, which appeared to be 2.6.5.
Then I've compiled it without devfs support, because it vas marked as obsolete.
When I started it first time gentoo initialization scripts have detected the lack of devfs support and asked to recompile the kernel with devfs.
Then it started and appeared to work.
What should I do with this? Should I add devfs support? If so, does it need some speecial attention? If not, how do I remove this message?
Thank you in advance. |

You could safely add devfs to your kernel. _________________ GIT d- s:+>: a-- C+++ UBS+++ P++ L+++

No special treatment, I think the support is equal to the support of 2.4.x series, included in the kernel maybe for retro-compatiblity.
There was already a post about your same (sort of) problem, try to search the forum for it. _________________ GIT d- s:+>: a-- C+++ UBS+++ P++ L+++
