Black screen/GPF:Kernel panic (kernel 2.6) Resolved!

Disable Parallel port in BIOS under => Advanced/Onboard Devices Conf.
Disable PS/2 Mouse support in BIOS under => Boot / Boot Settings Conf.

Installing Gentoo on SATA drive (kernel 2.6) Resolved!
Change HD drive priority putting SATA as 1st Drive in BIOS under => Boot / Hard Disk Drives

LAN/AGP Gart detecting locks(kernel 2.6)Resolved!
Remove any SCSI adapters

... and happy gentooing! :D

Has someone tried my workaround on P4P800/P4C800 Mobo?

i just solved the problem with s-atat on P4P800SE

first you should ensure that the CDROM are connected to the "Second IDE Slot" and then go into the bios with main page

you can see the "IDE configuration" and go into it.
please set these:
Onboard IDE Operater Mode [Compatible Mode]
IDE Port Setting [Secondary P-ATA + S-ATA]

save and reboot your computer.
you can touch the #

but there is still a problem with the Onboard LanCard. :p

what do you mean there is still aproblem with the onboard lan card, does it work duringinstall?

if it does , you can check with lsmod to see what modules are loaded in the instalation kernel, and then load them yourself in makemenuconfig

the universal cd should be able to get the onboard lan no problem. if it doesnt modprobe it

i used the universal cd but there is no right driver.

my onboard net card is Marvell
