|
|
Hai,
I've just installed kernel 2.4.24 on my DELL Inspiron 8100 laptop and try to get hotplug with ieee1394 up and running.
USB hotplugging works fine, but I can not attach my firewire disks and dvd-writer.
Has anybody an Idea?
Thanks in advance,
Loisl |

you need scsi enabled in your kernel, especially sd_mod (scsi disk)
you'll also need the firewire module sbp2
if all those are inserted and you don't see anything in `dmesg`, try this:
http://www.linux1394.org/scripts/rescan-scsi-bus.sh
it rescans the scsi bus - sometimes a device just doesn't pop up
if that doesn't help, maybe http://www.linux1394.org/ can help you further |
