I have some problem with all the drivers > 1.0.4496
When I make "xset dpms force off" (or the timeout turns off the screen) instead of becoming black and turn off backlight, the screen starts to became white, from the corners to the center, and ends totally white.
Using the old drivers 1.0.4496-r1 all works well.
I have a laptop Inspiron 8500 with a nVidia NV28 (GeForce4 Ti 4200 Go AGP 8x). Currently running kernel 2.6.3-love4, but I've tested also with other kernels and same result. Anything greater than 1.0.4496 and DMPS doesn't work.
Anybody noticed this? _________________ -=[ bisho [=- |

I just emerge the package from portage.
Now media-video/nvidia-kernel-1.0.4496-r4
Anything more current that 4496 is broken. And I have also post help requests in the forums at nvidia site with no response... _________________ -=[ bisho [=- |
