Now who thought of making 'tail -<lines>' obsolete in favor of 'tail -n <lines>'. Yes I know using -n is a lot cleaner but a lot of scripts and installs are broken now.

Is there any workaround except for editing all my scripts and those self-inflatable installs or installing an older version of tail? (head has the same prob btw)

You could patch the utils up to accept the old format as well, but of course it is required to sooner or later follow the new format. |
