Code: | $ emerge -p love-sources
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] sys-kernel/love-sources-2.6.6_rc1-r1 [2.6.5-r3] |
Has slotting disappeared from the ebuilds, or is emerge -p wrong? I don't really want to get rid of 2.6.5-love3 yet. |

You won't get rid of it. It's still slotted, but now it shows that it's an upgrade properly. Let's all thank johnm and latexer for there hard work on the kernel-2 eclass. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

After upgrading to the newest love, my Bootsplash-Background does no longer appear on boot, but if I switch to the terminal from X, it is active again.
Anyone having an Idea, what this could have caused? |

That's good. It's just a bit disconcerting the first time you see it... |

The kernel compiles and boots, but like previous posters, the bootsplash isn't working. Also, gkrellm2 crashes with a segfault when starting it, oddly enough. The rest seems to work fine. Went back to 2.6.5-love4 and everything was allright again. I checked the `Use register arguments (EXPERIMENTAL)' which is disabled (warns about breaking binary packages). It's disabled.

Gkrellm is working fine here - no segfaults. Steel, are you going to include the cflags selection patch in upcoming releases? |

It'll be added again. Just have to clean something up. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

gkrellm works fine here as well.
I think this question was addressed in a ealier release but when I boot now I get the love boot splash and then right before it get to X is uses gentoo bootsplash and I see some weird looking background which looks like a error but it goes by to quick to tell what it is.
Other then that things are woking great. |

They aren't included anymore. I was under the impression that they weren't needed anymore. If you still have problems, try and upgrade your BIOS, taht should take care of everything. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

It compiles fine on amd64, but still craps out warnings about rcupdate.h with gcc 3.4. I fixed this, I can mail you the patch if you're interested steel. No segfaults with gkrellm2, but bootsplash won't work here too. _________________ post tenebras lux, post fenestras tux
