I have just scanned my Windows [over Samba] machine with ClamAV. It shows up with 1 virus detected, and im just wondering if it gets rid of it automatically, or do you need to set special commands for it?
Here is the output of it:
Code: |
----------- SCAN SUMMARY -----------
Known viruses: 21154
Scanned directories: 308
Scanned files: 4810
Infected files: 1
Data scanned: 2009.27 MB
I/O buffer size: 131072 bytes
Time: 4396.197 sec (73 m 16 s)

clamav only scan for viruses, a repair function is not implemented so you must clean the infected file with ie. f-prot _________________ Why rise by windows if there are doors!!!!!

f-prot works well with amavis too, as does clamav. _________________ 6700 @ 2.66GHz, 4Gb RAM, 2 x 500Gb, 8800 GTX, PhysX, X-Fi, 24" Widescreen, Tux mascot |

I was just wondering if you got ClamAV to work with SAMBA?? As in, will
it scan your shared folders when someone adds a file?
I'm stuck here because when I add the "vfs" lines in my smb.conf,
testparm won't recognise it :/
If you do, I hope you don't mind but could you tell me what version of
SAMBA you are running as well as paste the lines related to clamav from
your smb.conf?
Thanks in advance,

Yes you can scan files on shares. I do this all the time with my Windows share. _________________ "The X server has to be the biggest program I've ever seen that doesn't do anything for you."
