slow mouse in x

im having a rather strange issue with the mouse, before it hits the "acceleration" it moves REALLY slowly, and then once i move it at a certain speed it jumps to the accelerated speed

anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

What wm do you use? If kde try fiddling around in the control panel under peripherals.

ya the only option in there is for the mouse acceleration speed, nothing about initial movement speed :/

check your mouse resolution option in your xf86config (or equivalent). or read up on it. maybe that's it?

thanks, the resolution setting was commented out for some reason, removed it and its working fine now
