Hello,
I've a Deskjet 845C printer; printing using CUPS driver (HP New DeskJet Series CUPS v1.1) is possible but far from ideal so I've decided to try foomatic/hpijs driver; now that's where the fun starts  I've followed exactly the Gentoo Printing Guide; then tried every solution I found on these forums, liuxprinting.org & friends, web in general (Google didn't spit much to dig into) - and still the same problem: printing test page is being aborted with the "Media tray empty!" in the printer's status line. Switched CUPS to debug mode and found every time that same error:

----/var/log/cups/error_log----
Kernel 2.4.25-gentoo-r2
Proposed (and unfortunately non-working) solutions involved reemerging cups+foomatic+hpijs+ghostscript in the proper order, plugging out and back in the printer... is there anything else I could try? :|
Regards,
Rav

Nevermind, got this sorted out. Emerging latest (unstable) hpijs ebuild sufficed - so I suppose sometimes Mr. ~x86 keyword is your friend
