hi everyone, i hope this hasn't been asked before... anyways, everything has been working great for me so far, i just have one minor hiccup...
basically, the tahoma truetype font looks weird in amsn. it looks find everywhere else, just amsn seems to be causing problems for some reason.

i've read most of the topics about fonts and stuff, and everything seems to be setup correctly...
thanks!

well, apparently it's not just an amsn problem. i loaded up xfontsel and got the same results when viewing the tahoma font. i also tried out some other true type fonts and they worked fine. anybody exerience this or is able to duplicate it?
here are the screenshots of xfontsel:

I have the same problem...
when I create the xfs font cache the tahoma.ttf font uses "char cell" and not proportial spacing... hence the huge gaps.. ('-c-' not '-p-' like normal in fonts.scale)
Its really weird, but it seems to be mkfontdir/mkfontscale that recognise the font wrong.
Or maybe this is a bad version of the font itself
Any ideas? |
