Printer HElp

so far I have emerged cupsd, foomatic, and everything kde. I was trying to add a printer through Configure - Printing Manager, and the Add Printer Wizard. It succeeds and whatever, and when trying to print something from Openoffice or doing a test print, my printer prints a blank page. cupsd is started, etc. And I do have a working/used printer cartidge.
