I'm building an HTPC and ran out of PCI slots so I need to use a USB wireless network card to make this work.
I've read some postings about this but couldn't find any recommendations on which to go with.
Any opinions on this? What's the best USB wireless B network device for linux? |

I have a D-Link DWL-120 Model B2
Code: | Bus 002 Device 002: ID 03eb:7603 Atmel Corp. AT76c503a D-Link DWL-120 802.11b Adapter | there are no drivers under portage, but you can use the atmel drivers found at http://at76c503a.berlios.de/. maybe I'll make an ebuild for it. _________________ Explaining the obvious to the oblivious.

Thanks, but thats a little bigger than what I was thinking.
I'm looking at the small USB wireless adapters.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks! |

Linksys makes a nifty USB wireless adapter that is the size of a pen drive. This a very nice tool to have...especially if your moving around or jumping from computer to computer (you can get a driver that fits on a floppy or a usb pen drive). You can get either the EtherFast USB100m or the Compact USB 2.0 USB200M
Hope this helps _________________ Killer ninja coding monkeys do exist!! |

I think that device contains the same chip as their other, larger devices, and thus will use the same driver. I don't particulary know for sure (i own a bigger one), but I seem to have read that somewhere. _________________ word. |
