I have a system with a removable hdd tray and two hdd's. I have a working 1.2 install on one hdd that will power down on its own with acpi.

I decided to give 1.4 a whirl on the second hdd. I just took my .config file from 1.2 install and compiled my kernel with the same options on my 1.4 install, since its the same machine.

Everything so far has worked great with 1.4 except when I go to shutdown. It goes through the whole process, and even makes the clicking noise that it makes in 1.2 when it shuts down. But it doesnt' actually turn off. The last message on the screen is (kernel preempt exited with 1).

At this point my main power button has no effect. I have to hit the reset button and then hit the main power button to actually shutdown.

Any thoughts?
