| I used the how-to given by gentoo.org to install my sound. I did all this while i was under root and now my sound works. I wanted to get out of the habit of logging in as root so I made a new user and logged in and i got the no sound server error again like i was getting before installing my sound under root. When i log into root i can still use sound, just not in my new user... any idea why? |

add that user to the "audio" group.
