I just ordered a new G4 1.5ghz Powerbook and I'm eagerly looking forward to having a great new notebook. I should see it in about 1 week...... WOOHOOOOO!
I'm currently using Gentoo on my Toshiba notebook, and I'm starting to research what I'll be doing during my install on the Powerbook (I"ll keep OS X too, it's pretty nice). I'm anticipating trouble with the Airport Extreme (Broadcom) wifi card, and possibly the ATI video card (Mobility 9700) I think. I love a challenge 
I have RAM here just gathering dust, so that's going in, and I have an extra Hitachi/IBM 7200RPM HDD that might find a new home too. Anyone know a good laptop-sized Bluetooth mouse?
Well, off to my research, don't want to start off with too many questions before reading everything possible about my new toy.

Congratulations!  I also love challenges (have a Powerbook G4 15" Alu).

I'm in agony, I've been tracking its shipping progress .... from Shanghai.
It's in Indianapolis now, with a note "released for delivery". I don't live in Indianapolis.... I hope this means it's just been put on another plane and isn't riding around in a truck in Indianapolis.

Ok, I have to admit, I've had the thing all weekend and haven't gotten any closer to installing Gentoo. OS X is nice...
