|
|
I just installed supermount and now winex doesn't launch games.
Here is my /etc/fstab:
Code: |
none /mnt/dvd supermount dev=/dev/cdroms/cdrom0,fs=iso9660 0 0
none /mnt/cdrw supermount dev=/dev/cdroms/cdrom1,fs=iso9660 0 0
|
Supermount is pissing me off a little. For example, my desktop icons disapear when it can't read the cd correctly in winex or another program. The disk icons appear on the desktop even if they are not mounted. In addition, the labels would not update when I put a different cd in. And just now, diablo II video test just popped up from when I executed it 5 minutes ago and my icons are back. It seems to be reading the disk super slow, but games won't even run, so I don't know.
Before I installed supermount, I was able to use winex but not certain audio cds. I used to get a message that said something like "Couldn't mount, too many filesystems, or incorrect options, blah blah blah"
Here is my previous fstab:
Code: |
#/dev/cdroms/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrw iso9660 auto,ro,user 0 0
#/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto auto,user 0 0
|
I need to be able to mount every kind of cd and play games with Winex. Supermount fixed the former but broke the latter. I don't care which method I use, as long as it works without a hitch. I don't mind manually mounting. (in fact I like it better.)

ROFL- Diablo II just now started up. I pressed the play button 10 minutes ago. Lol! That's a ridiculously long time. That didn't happen before I enabled supermount. At least it's working, but it's still unacceptable. |

I might get flamed for this but if games are so important to you why not just dualboot to windows?
Btw you don't need to mount audio cd's to be able to play them _________________ There's someone watching me. I can tell. |

Hmmmm, although I can't say that I have a fix for this, I can say thanks! I had just installed winex, and trying to install d2 it took 10 minutes for the setup thing to open, now I know the culprit! My suggestion: get rid of supermount. The strange thing is, I had it working perfectly before, with supermount, it worked perfectly.Oh well. I'll see what I can figure out. @huru: not a bad idea, it's what I do for some games that refuse to run under winex. |
