Hi,
I upgraded dhcpcd yesterday, from dhcpcd-1.3.22_p4-r2 to dhcpcd-1.3.22_p4-r4. And dhcpcd now will not get an address from ny dhcp server.
I can manually set the details for eth0 not problems, and it works find, but as soon as I start dhcpcd on the interface, it fails with a NAK message from the dhcp server.
It worked fine prior to the upgrade, and another 'puter in the same port is able to get the IP address.
I've checked the /etc/conf.d/net file, and there's not gateway set, or anything like that.
If I sniff the traffic, I can see dhcpcd sending the DHCP ReQUEST for the previous IP address, but the server appears to be offering the NETWORK address not the IP address, and then sending a NAK when dhcpcd requests it.
ie
My previous address was 10.251.144.102, so the REQUEST contains that.
The DHCP server responds with an OFFER of 10.251.144.0 (netmask 255.255.252.0)
So I REQUEST 10.251.144.0, which the server NAKs
Now I'd blame a stupid dhcp server, except that it worked prior to the dhcpcd upgrade, and another 'puter works fine.
*UPDATE*
It appears that co-incidently, the DHCP server was upgraded at the same time, and I have a static reservation in the dhcp server.
Some-one fscked up the migration |
