I am trying to setup dhcpd and when i emerge dhcp it completed with out a problem but when i tried to /etc/init.d/dhcp start it game me an error "/usr/sbin/dhcpd: No such file or directory" I found the dhcpd file in /sbin directory though is there any reason for this i don't remember this happening the last time i tried setting up dhcpd |

hi,
check in /etc/init.d/dhcpd or (if it exists) /etc/conf.d/dhcpd if it uses /usr/sbin/dhcpd or sbin/dhcpd.
if you've set the chroot-flag, it is possible that you have to do some post-install-tasks ...

I don't remember using the chroot-flag. in the /etc/init.d/dhcp NOT dhcpd it triess to exec /usr/sbin/dhcpd |

well, then try changing that init.d/dhcpd - line to /sbin/dhcpd

I have tried that. But i don't think it works since it doesn't even complain about the dhcp.leases file not existing. |
