problem booting liveCD

I've tried to install Gentoo 2004 on a machine with Mylex DAC960 RAID Array Controller, but the initial booting process stops immediately

boot: gentoo nodhcp cdcache
Loading gentoo...................................................
Loading gentoo.igz.................................................
Ready.

And the system is dead. Alse the keyboard not respondig !!

Why? Have someone found this problem ??

hi,

i have this problem too, i can't boot the gentoo live cd 2004.2...
i also can't boot other linux cds... it hangs always at the same message like above, no kernel options or so does work...

can someone help me?

What kind of BIOS are you using?

Try going in and using "load failsafe defaults" and see if that brings any luck. If it works, you can go back and tweek it little by little to see what was causing it.

hi, no it doesn't work...

its a phoenix bios on a Fujitsu Siemens Primergy 400 with Dual P2@300 CPU

hi,

when i connect a harddisk to the primary onboard ide controller, it works...

its very strange..., and i don't like to use the ide harddisk...
