When I was running a 32bits OS, I was using IglooFTP, now it's not working anymore, so I've tried gftp, but as soon as I start uploading it crashes ...
So my question here is what do you use ?
PS: I'm not interested in Kbear

That's a shame because Kbear is great!! You might find lftp is better than gui ftp apps though, once learned it's very fast...

Who needs a GUI when you can learn the commands in 20 min? I was looking for a GUI ftp client when I finally gave up and started using lftp and ncftp. I now prefer it and would advise that you just learn from the command line. Once you are used to the commands, I think its WAY easier. |

I tried to emerge kbear yesterday, but it fails during compile with 3.4.0. I haven't tried with gcc 3.3.3 yet.

Hi,
Something i discover very recently, and seems to be very useful when th keyboard is too tired
konqueror (in kde>3.1 i think) do very nicely this GUI ftp job.
in the url you type:
ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/
that's all ...split the window...drag'n drop
something also sometimes very useful: a GUI for scp like WinScp (for Windows)
the program is the same as above: konqueror
you only have to put in the url:
fish://my_remote_pc
where my_remote_pc is your remote pc you want to connect
again split the konqueror window and start to drag'n drop
I guess.. but i never check it (i need time to emerge it :p ) that the nautilus program in gnome do the same kind of jobs ? if someone could confirm ?

Yes it does.
Here and here two interesting discussions about it. _________________ vificunero@jabber.org |
