|
|
I'm trying to set up a XeroxWorkcentre Pro 32C printer over the network. The printer is hosted on a windows server.
I'm trying to print to it from KDE with cups. Unfortunately there is no driver for that printer in foomatic. I downloaded some 'drivers' from:
http://www.support.xerox.com/go/results.asp?Xlang=en_US&XCntry=USA&prodID=WCP_32C&ripId=
but the 'installation' of the thing is a joke (just undocumented binary setup scripts). I copied the ppd file for the printer out of the driver packages to
/usr/share/cups/model/xr_WorkCentre32.ppd
and am now able to select the proper model from the kde-print wizzard. when trying to finish the installation however i get an error: "Unable to load the requested driver:"
Does anyone know how to get that to work? _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

If you follow the link from your own post, you see that Xerox now
provides Linux-drivers for it's Workcentre series. I did not manage
to install them yet, but it's a start _________________ If there is one thing to learn from history, it's that we usualy don't learn anything from it, at all. |
