|
|
Hi,
i'm new to Gentoo and need a liveCD that boots on a Mac just like Knoppix does on a PC, without touching the HD.
I downloaded already 2 PPC LiveCDs but both seem to be InstallationCDs.
I know there are suppose to be Gentoo LiveCD with KDE and games and stuff, but i just can't find them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I'm a total newbie here, but how long does building the set take on average? Could we expect it in the next week or so, or is this a longer process?
Thanks |

Hi,
thanks for the reply pvdabeel.
Could you be a little more specific about when to expect the new LiveCDs?
Also, what are/will the LiveCDs with KDE/Gnome and stuff be named? |

I will have to check with the releng team, which maintains the naming scheme of anything that is put on the mirrors.
For the eta: it can be as soon as tomorrow, put will probably be somewhere this week. No need to rush, better to have quality cds. |

Right, no need to rush.
Just wanted an eta for when to check back.
If you could find out about the naming and post back, would be really great.
I really don't wanna download another couple of useless isos.
Have a nice weekend. |

Downloaded the .iso, checked the md5sum and burned to cd. It boots fine but you are left with a blank screen. I switched to the command line and tried starting x (it's using XFree86) but I get the error 'No Screens Found'. Unfortunatly I dont no enough about this to offer any more info. Of course YMMV but be warned it didnt work for me (new world iBook 800MHz). _________________ <insert witty sig here> |

Would it be possible to put the old ones back up for download? Does anyone happen to have the old ones? |
