I'm trying to install Gentoo on an Athlon 1.333 GHz system (2004.0 Minimal LiveCD)
I've seen a few solutions for this problem that some people get on boot, but this is from a live CD, so I can't, obviously, edit any of the configuration files.
The error I get is:
Code: | * Starting USB and PCI hotplugging...
** can't synthesize input events - /proc/bus/input/devices missing |
Any ideas?

Solved the problem. Booted with the smp (2.6) kernel instead of the gentoo (2.4) kernel at the LiveCD boot prompt. I believe the problem is simply a bug in the 2.4 kernel, as the other posts suggested. |
