I am using the nvidia binary drivers, when I try to emerge rivatv 0.8.4 it fails with the following
Code: |
*** ERROR:
*** You are currently using the closed-source accelerated 'nvidia' driver
*** In combination with RivaTV, this may cause crashes.
*** To work around, either use UP + NVdriver (nvidia), or SMP + nv
Your setup got 1 error(s) and 0 warning(s).
We recommend you try to resolve the issues before using RivaTV.
!!! ERROR: media-tv/rivatv-0.8.4 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 365, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
|
Its supposed to work with the binary drivers from nvidia (as it says on the rivatv homepage). |

did you try to use the ndidia drivers included in nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx
they where the only way to be able to config xfree, so I think they are the best/ _________________ thesis. |

I use the nvidia drivers, so yes, my config file is ok - this shouldn't affect rivatv compiling |

try the changes that i posted up there, they should work,
emerge both nvidia-kernel
and nvidia-glx
then do the changes in the config file, and you should see a nice nvidia logo on the screen _________________ thesis. |

I can compile rivatv just fine when I'm not using the ebuild.
However I couldn't get it to work on 2.6 series kernels yet.
The problem with the ebuild is that it stops on every warning.
The output from my emerge rivatv is:
Code: |
Checking for kernel gcc... Linux version 2.6.4 (root@mighty.home.lan) (gcc-Version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)) #2 Tue Apr 20 20:44:00 CEST 2004

Strange though that you got real errors and I only got some warnings... |
