Its my understanding that when you boot up the live cd your supposed
to have some sorta background but on my machine it just has a a black background. Its nothing major but it would be cool to have .
My hardware is:
Intel 845 onboard video controller
Samsung 700DF
All help is welcome.

which livecd are you using (2004.0, 2004.1), and which kernel (smp, gentoo)? I find that with the 2004.1 CD and the smp kernel, there is no fb support for some reason or another. |

It depends if the kernel have framebuffer built-in.
Like on my box, the card and screen hates frame buffers, so I had to start with the kernel gentoo-nofb to get things going on. |
