I love this little utility in KDE. But it stopped working after last nights 'emerge -uDv world.' Just like mplayer stopped sound after a similar emerge command last week!
Sometimes, you can't win. Funny enough, I'm now watching some family clips through 'pornview' which is working flawlessly with video and audio. Go figure.
Anyone else having problems with kaboodle?
Thanks much!

Updating world that often is bound to give you problems now and then. One of it's dependencies may have changed and rebuilt without rebuilding kaboodle as well (i.e. the binaries are now incompatable) Remember that the update deep searches down the chain for dependencies. I may be wrong, but I don't think there is any means for it to seach back up the dependency chains for non-updating packages that will need to be rebuilt.
Usually you'll have better luck choosing a large package at the top of the chain with lots of dependencies. In this case you may have been better off doing something like
emerge --update --deep KDE _________________ "...as we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours, and this we should do freely and generously." -Benjamin Franklin |
