|
I followed the HOWTO: ndiswrapper wireless setup for setting up a Broadcom Truemobile 1300 wireless card. Unfortunately, when I modprobe ndiswrapper:
the dmesg I get when I look is
Code: | ...
ndiswrapper version 0.6 loaded |
instead of the
Code: | #dmesg
....
wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx |
that I'm supposed to get. Thinking that might have been ok, I continued on with the install. Unfortunately, when I get to the iwconfig section, I get
Code: | wlan0 No such device |
I know that my card is being recognized (I checked /proc/pci) and I was very careful to make sure that my kernel has the proper options. (I checked /usr/src/linux/.config to make sure the options were set properly. )
I'm stumped here now, and have looked through all the ndiswrapper posts, and can't seem to get anywhere with this. Ideas? _________________ -meet me in outer space |

The card is a Broadcom 94306 on the list.
Verified by /proc/pci
Thank you though _________________ -meet me in outer space |

hmm.. i dunno then...
are you loading the ndiswrapper kernel module AFTER you load the driver using ndiswrapper?
Another thing that might be worth checking is that the wireless hardware is enabled in the bios... I forgot to plug-in my laptop last night before I went to bed and the battery went dead... The bios defaulted the wireless adapter to off for some reason... I couldn't load the kernel module no matter how many times I tried....
If that isn't your problem, then I'm out of ideas... it may be worth your time to sift thru the ndiswrapper mailing list archive.. they have lots of good info there.. |

Yeah, definitely loaded those first. Will go check out the mail archives next. Thanks for trying. Any other takers?
<<edit>>looked through all the mail archives, and there's nothing there to help with this situation. _________________ -meet me in outer space |

So, I upgraded to ndiswrapper-0.7 and it worked. I don't know why. The gremlins seem to be out in full force. _________________ -meet me in outer space |

have you actually gotten connected to your AP?
I'm currently unable to do that.. I got the rest of ndiswrapper working as far as I can tell.. I just doesn't seem to recognize any AP's...
Glad to hear about your success though..
BTW..
ndiswrapper 0.7 is currently in portage |

Hi,
I followed the HOWTO instructions to install ndiswrapper. Unfortunately, when I modprobe, I got this :
ndiswrapper version 0.6 loaded
ndiswrapper adding tnet1130.sys
PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
PCI: Unable to reserve mem region #2:fffe5000@de020000 for device 0000:02:00.0
tnet1130.sys: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -16
Did someone get the same thing (and solved it....) ? It can't be a matter of memory, I've got lots of free Mo.
Thanks |
