You need to emerge winex ... they have a better directX support than wine. I would suggest your emerge winex-cvs 2.1 then install your games and after that update to 2.2 . The 2.2 version always create a wrong fake_windows dir and I cant install my games.
Just my 0.02 cents. |

HL will not work until it has been patched to a higher version. So, get the latest patch and install it before you try and launch the game. I had a hard time figuring that one out. |

Ok what error exactly do you get when you run winex-cvs ???
Could you tell us which part of the config file you do not understand exactly because it is hard to help you right now ...
By default when you run for the first time winex-cvs it will create a folder .winex-cvs in your home dir. In that dir you will see the config file and the fake_windows folder. ( I moved the fake_windows folder to another partition and change the config file to point to the new location because I dont want to take all the space of my home. |
