Unreal I installer

Has anyone tried the Unreal I installer from:

http://icculus.org/~chunky/ut/unreal/

I intalled it and the install went smoothly but the colors in the game are a tad messed up. A log of thing which should be dark look purple and other colors look washed out. The game run fine with good fps but the colors are awful.

Any help appreciated.

I have the same problems. Not only do the colors look screwed up on mine, but most of the function keys don't work properly. And whenever I try to take a screenshot, I crash to the desktop. I'd love to hear from someone who got this working.

I played through unreal for the first time using this version just a few months ago. I remember the weird colors but I don't remember for sure how I fixed it. Did you try adjusting the gamma settings in the game? I remember them being set really wacked out. Try that.

Just turn down the gamma to where it looks good to you.

If you read chunky's page carefully you would see that he turned it all the way up on purpose.

Oh, and don't switch back to the original unreal menu he mentions....it screws up if you try to change keybindings...I know this from personal experience.

Otherwise it runs great, and I'm glad chunky wrote it up...I never did beat it when I bought it years ago.
