okay, after 8 failed attempts, lots of headaches and me wanting to chuck my mutant ibook out the window....... I FINALLY got Gentoo installed. ^_^ but my next (n00b) question is..... now what?
Yeh, I got the g3 packages CD but... do I use Xfree? a friend of mine told me about X.org..... so many choices! I really don't know what to do from this point (can't wait to install GNOME though )

X.Org ist a fork of XFree. The copyright for XFree has been changed. It is supposed that Linux distributions don't deliver future versions of XFree because of that. So I would say, choose X.Org (if it's already available on PPC).
When you've installed X.Org or XFree, you must configure your X11-system. This can be done by Xeasyconfig (or by manually configuring the file /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/xorg.conf). After that you can install Gnome.
