:(

Even with ALSA's OSS package emerged, my system still can't find /dev/mixer (among other devices, I think). Should I enable the "oss" USE flag and re-emerge every package that uses it, or is there some other procedure to follow?

BTW, I'm using the 2.4.26 kernel, and everything is up to date with the latest stable packages on Portage.

As always, here is a copy of my lsmod:

Code:

Many thanks in advance.

Nevermind. I just had to re-emerge "alsa-driver" with the oss USE flag. Thank you for the help though, moocha!

Someone please close the thread. :)
