Hi,

I've been playing around a bit with the immutable flag on Linux, but since root can easily remove the flag, on it's own it doesn't seem to be a great deal of use (except to stop careless admins accidently deleting important files).

OpenBSD adds the concept of securelevels which work hand in hand with chattr, and apparently early kernels (up to 2.0.x) did support securelevels. It was then replaced with lcap which promised much more flexibility.

Anyway, from what I can see, the lcap project seems to be dead (homepage is down, no recent updates). Is lcap still in use, or has it been superseeded by something better ? (and will it even run on a 2.6 kernel).

Comments and stuff appreciated
