shutdown hangs

Reboot works fine but shutdown works until the point at which it should turn off and it doesn't. Motherboard: ABit IT7.

Any ideas?

What options did you compile your kernel with? I mean the power management stuff.

damn i'm stoopid! Fired up make menuconfig and i hadn't selected apm support!
