USB keyboard locks up

When i boot into linux(dev. sources, 2.6.6 rc1) my USB keyboard locks up (numlock lights up, and no key presses get any reaction). If i reboot my keyboard doesnt work at all(even in windows), and even if i turn on/off, i have to totally power off to get it working.
Exactly what options should be enabled in the kernel for my USB keyboard to work?

I had this problem before, but cant even remember if i ever solved it

sometimes the BIOS causes problems here, make sure that you do not have anything similar to the following enabled:

USB Legacy
USB Keyboard
USB Keyboard in DOS

Disabling "USB keyboard" really wasnt a good idea, it sort of disabled the keyboard totally

And it was pretty hard to change again, forcing me to use another keyboard!

I needed to enable OHCI support in the kernel, which wasnt default. That fixed the problem.

oops, i apologise for the bad advice..

often the BIOS will emulate the USB keyboard as PS/2 so that you can use it in DOS, etc. this sometimes causes problems when linux tries to claim the keyboard as a USB device.
