For what it's worth, this kernel's section in grub.conf:
Code: | # Reboot time
title 2.6.6-rc3-love4
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.6-rc3-love4 root=/dev/hda3 vga=0x517 vesa:ywrap,mttr elevator=cfq
initrd (hd0,0)/boot/initrd-1024x768
|
And cfq is reported as being used.
Code: | gateway root # grep -e scheduler -e "Linux version" /var/log/boot.log
Linux version 2.6.6-rc3-love4 (root@gateway) (gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r3, ssp-3.3-7, pie-8.5.3)) #1 Thu May 6 07:59:54 CDT 2004
Using cfq io scheduler
|
Did you actually run lilo to update the boot sector after editing lilo.conf?
(I was guilty of forgetting to do that far too often before I switched to grub, so please don't be offended by my asking the obvious.) |

This kernel sucks for me my mouse moves slowly when high cpu usage and when writing to disk like when i start to download a .torrent file again and it is looking on the things that i already have downloaded! _________________ Gentoo 2005.0

I'm running this kernel with asus nforce2 deluxe mb, athlonXP 3k barton CPU, & 1 gig ddr, and everything is working great so far... No X or mouse slowdown. No freezing so far... (been up 2 hours -- still remains to be seen if it's gonna be stable). I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again Steel for putting in the time to constantly release kernels for us! |
