Hi all,
With the aid of a very knowledgeable friend (who knows little about hardware etc) I'm about to embark on a Gentoo install on my Duron based machine.
I've had a few pointers about what to look at during the install, but was wondering if anyone could suggest options I should consider when installing?

If you have a speedtouch usb modem then go for a stage 3 install. I can't get my POS to work

Nope, got a nice ethernet ADSL modem. This machine has been running as a web/e-mail/firewall under Fedora for ages so I'm happy hardware will be fine with Gentoo.
It's more compile options etc that I'm curious about.
