I'm working through the qmail/courier/vpopmail howto, and I'm currently on the step where you test local delivery. Here's what's going on:

After using qmail-inject to send mail to the root user (which forwards to my user account), this is the email that I recieve:
Code:
Return-Path: #@[]
Delivered-To: erik@foo
Received: (qmail 7586 invoked by alias); 6 May 2004 10:58:26 -0500
Delivered-To: postmaster@foo
Received: (qmail 7583 invoked for bounce); 6 May 2004 10:58:25 -0500
Date: 6 May 2004 10:58:25 -0500
From: MAILER-DAEMON@foo
To: postmaster@foo
Subject: failure notice

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at foo.
I tried to deliver a bounce message to this address, but the bounce bounced!

<erik@foo.foo>:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named foo.foo. (#5.1.2)

--- Below this line is the original bounce.

Return-Path: <>
Received: (qmail 7581 invoked for bounce); 6 May 2004 10:58:25 -0500
Date: 6 May 2004 10:58:25 -0500
From: MAILER-DAEMON@foo
To: erik@foo.foo

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at foo.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<root@foo.foo>:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named foo.foo. (#5.1.2)

--- Below this line is a copy of the message.

Return-Path: <erik@foo.foo>
Received: (qmail 7579 invoked by uid 1000); 6 May 2004 10:58:25 -0500
Date: 6 May 2004 10:58:25 -0500

test email sent to root

I replaced all occurrances of my machine's hostname with "foo". It looks like a hostname issue, but I've checked /etc/hostname and /etc/dnsdomainname and they're both correct. Am I missing something?

Nevermind...I needed to add my local host/domain to /var/qmail/control/locals.

For some reason, the ebuild config didn't do that. It's working like a charm now.
