bah, this problem is really driving me nuts!
i was impatient during the install and decided to go ahead and use the binary for kde... so i finally decide it's time to update the system by emerge world, and here's what happens:
during any kde compile (besides those that worked previously... those updated fine, mostly talking about kdemultimedia and kdeartwork) -- it will get to ./configure and then at the bottom says:
Quote: |
checking for KDE... libraries /usr/kde/3.2/lib, headers /usr/kde/3.2/include
checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.
!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.2.2-r1 failed.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, line 118, Exitcode 1
!!! died running ./configure, kde_src_compile:configure |
someone suggested fix_libtool_files.sh -- this yeilded no results (however, i guessed on usage... so i may just not have been using it right). another suggested revdep-rebuild, this didn't work either.
i have done emerge sync, and i've used one version under this in kdelibs. when i tried the older version of kdelibs, it didn't complain during configure, but during compile it tried going for a file that wasn't there.
could this possibly be a bug in the e-build(s)? i really have no idea. any help is strongly appreciated though. _________________ "Nothing is for sure, that's the only sure thing I do know" -- A Beautiful Mind |

if you are sure you have it, and it is installed sucessfully, you can do a
Code: | # emerge --inject kde-base/kdelibs-3.2.1 |
to get rid of the dependency. _________________ Explaining the obvious to the oblivious.

The error is with configure, not portage so that won't fix anything.
