emerge with specific gcc

I just installed a fresh new copy of gentoo on my laptop with gcc 3.4. My problem is that some programs(like svgalib, sdl-mixer etc) doesn't compile well and I think it's gcc's fault. How can I compile those programs with gcc3 instead?

You can use gcc-config to set your default compiler, but I'm not sure how to change what compiler a specific ebuild uses.
