ciao,
il server vnc esporta una nuova console virtuale e il wm e' twm.
Si puo' impostare kde?

Si bisogna cambiare il file che sta in ~/.vnc/NOMEFILE....solo che non ricordo come si chiama...  (al momento non sono su gentoo)
Troverai una riga che carica il wm, credo che sia la seconda o la terza (cmq credo che sia la più lunga, scusami ma adesso non ricordo assolutamente e nnon trovo la guida che ho seguito), la commenti e al suo posto ci metti il comando che fa partire il wm, per KDE ad esempio è "startkde". |

ciao, dopo il mio primo post ho cercato ancora in giro e', come tu mi confermi, ho visto che il file e' /homedir/.vnc/xstartup.
Ho provato con kdm,xdm ma ho avuto solo problemi.
Usando startkde e RISTARDANDO il tutto quindi obbligando il server a settarsi su display inferiore a 8 (per esempio 1) HA FUNZIONATO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

o basta che fai:
emerge gemsvnc
poi da utente che usa il desktop, lanci gemsvnc
e da un altra macchina lanci:
vncviewer ip_del_pc:0

Riesumo questo thread, perchè vorrei avviare in automatico gemsvnc al boot, ma non ci riesco.
Prima di tutto devo avviare wmaker e poi gemsvnc, per wmaker ho messo 5 al posto di 3 nel file di config inittab, ma all'avvio non parte nessun wm, mentre gemsvnc devo avviarlo dopo wmaker per quest'ultimo non ho proprio nessuna idea su come farlo.

Se non esiste un file in /etc/init.d/ hai due soluzioni:
1 - Te ne crei uno tu
2 - Usi il file /etc/conf.d/local.start

Per wmaker non ho ancora risolto, posso metterlo in /etc/conf.d/local.start? 
Mentre per gemsvnc ho già provato a metterlo in /etc/conf.d/local.start ma non funziona perchè vuole wmaker già avviato prima.

Per wmaker devi editare il file:

io ho sempre fatto diversamente... una volta emerso il classico vnc ho aggiunto al file di configurazione di x:

cosi carica il modulo vnc.so...
