HI All,
I set up a mail server similar to the virtual mailhost guide, but have added amavisd-new to it. Problem I am having is that I keep getting errors like:
Nov 27 13:11:39 gw01 postfix/qmgr[13622]: 8B9D92A3DC: from=<root@gw01.turbogroup.co.nz>, size=326, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
Nov 27 13:11:39 gw01 postfix/smtp[16011]: fatal: garbage after numerical service in SMTP server description: localhost:10024?max_use = 10
Nov 27 13:11:40 gw01 postfix/qmgr[13622]: warning: premature end-of-input on private/smtp socket while reading input attribute name
Nov 27 13:11:40 gw01 postfix/qmgr[13622]: warning: private/smtp socket: malformed response
Nov 27 13:11:40 gw01 postfix/qmgr[13622]: warning: transport smtp failure -- see a previous warning/fatal/panic logfile record for the problem description
Nov 27 13:11:40 gw01 postfix/master[13615]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/smtp pid 16011 exit status 1
Nov 27 13:11:40 gw01 postfix/master[13615]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtp: bad command startup -- throttling
In my mail.log file, regarding the localhost:10024?max_use = 10
parameter. I did have this at one point, the max_use one that is. But I deleted it from the config file after it started complaining. Even when I put it back in it makes no difference.
Any ideas??? |

I'd guess you fubared something in your /etc/postfix/master.cf The best thing to do is compare it against the one in /etc/postfix/sample/
